Wheelchairs

Drop in to the Information Centre in the entry plaza at the Zoo for a wheelchair, kindly donated by Invacare. There is no charge, however we recommend you book. Phone +64 9 360 3805.

Mobility Scooters

There are three mobility scooters, sponsored by TSB Bank, for visitor use.  There is no charge for the scooters, however a $30 bond is required (redeemable on return of the scooter). Experience of driving a mobility scooter is essential. You will also need to sign a waiver form prior to use.

Pushchairs

Pushchairs are available for hire from the Information Centre. Single chairs $6 and double chairs $8, plus bond of a drivers license (or equivalent).

Umbrellas

The Zoo's Information Centre hires out umbrellas for $3 plus bond of a drivers license (or equivalent). There is also a range of wet weather apparel for purchase at Wild Zone gift shop.

Toilets and parent / child facilities

Toilets and baby changing facilities are situated throughout the Zoo. Parents room with breastfeeding facilities are also available. Check our map to see locations.

Lockers

Storage lockers are available to hire through the Zoo's Information Centre.  There is no charge, however, we do require a driver's license (or equivalent).
